The lecturer for today’s lecture is You Young-joo, Seoul James Tribe Leader.

In this chapter, a wedding banquet of the Lamb is held and the riders of white horses fight against the devil’s armies and defeat them.

Rev19 starts with “After this.” This “this” means the events of Rev18. In Rev18, Babylon, the place where the evil spirits dwelled, was judged. Also, the marriage with the devil was ended.

A great multitude in heaven shouts “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God.” These are who came out to God, after realizing the word and the events of Revelation (Rev17:14, Rev18:4). The reason why they shouted this, God fought against and defeated the devil and he rescued and saved a great multitude from Babylon, the place where the evil spirits dwelled.

They also praised that God’s judgment is true and just. It’s because God judges people according to their deeds and the word recorded in the Bible with justice (Jn12:48, Rev20:11-15).

They again shout, Lord Almighty reigns. This is a sound that proclaims God’s salvation and the victory of God and the members.

Then, the wedding of the Lamb is being prepared. The wedding of the Lamb is the event where people promise not to commit adultery with other gods. Before this promise, all nations got married to evil spirits. The bride of the Lamb is New John to whom Jesus came (Rev22:17). Spiritual marriage is the spirit (groom) and flesh (bride) becoming one and living together (Hos2:19-20).

That makes us think of Mt22:1-14. A king prepared a wedding banquet for his son. We all know that Jesus parabolized the kingdom of heaven: God was compared to a king and his son is, of course, Jesus. The king prepared his oxen and fattened cattle, which are the betrayers and destroyers. We could check if it’s God’s wedding banquet or not by seeing if they testify about the betrayers and destroyers. This banquet is held at the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony (Rev15:5).

In Mt25, another parable of the wedding banquet is explaining the kingdom of heaven. There were ten virgins who wanted to enter the wedding banquet. They needed to prepare the lamps (Ps119:105, the word) and oil (Lev24:1-2, olive oil, that is the word of the testimony (Rev11:4)).

There are more things to prepare to go to the wedding banquet. It’s the wedding clothes! When we go to the wedding, we dress up following the T.P.O. There’s a dress code for this wedding, too. Those who didn’t keep the dress code are even get kicked out! These wedding clothes are the fine linen in Rev19:8, which is explained that the righteous deeds of the saints.

Since God’s wedding banquet has a standard, it is also said that “For many are invited, but few are chosen.” (Mt22:14)

Watching all these, New John was so grateful, so he fell on the angel’s (who showed and explained all these) feet and tried to worship him. However, the angel stopped him saying, “Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Like how New John was flesh that was chosen as the counselor by Jesus, the angel was the spirit that was the counselor spirit. As the spirits work through flesh, after the angel showed and explained all events of Revelation to New John, he testifies to the churches on behalf of Jesus (Rev22:8, 16).

Also, John saw a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. Armies follow him.

The rider is Jesus, who is the king of kings and the lord of lords. The white horse is New John, who was chosen as a counselor flesh. Jesus strikes Satan’s armies with a sharp sword and an iron scepter, which are the word of judgment (Rev1:16, 2:27).

The following armies are the angels and the congregation members who became one with the one who overcomes. Thousands upon thousands of heavenly armies fight against two hundred million of Satan’s armies. Satan’s armies are defeated and the birds flying in midair come and feed themselves with the flesh of the kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, all free people and slaves. The birds are the martyr spirits who were beheaded because of their testimonies about God and Jesus (Mt3:16, 13:31-32). Like how the angel gathers these spirits in the spiritual realm, the one who overcomes invites people to the wedding banquet of the Lamb. What they’re eating is the testimony of the betrayers and the destroyers (God’s oxen and fattened cattle). They listen to the word of testimony that judges the betrayers and destroyers.

Then John saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. Still, they’re captured and thrown into a fiery lake of burning sulfur. They’re the beast came from the sea and the beast came up from the earth (Rev13).

To sum up, there are conditions and standards when you go to the wedding banquet of the Lamb.

• Find the wedding banquet where God prepared his oxen (betrayers) and fatten cattle (destroyers)
• Prepare the lamp, oil, and the wedding clothes
• Find the one who overcomes, the promised pastor in the New Testament and the one Jesus came upon, and listen to his testimonies about the word and physical fulfillment of Revelation.
