[Basic Lesson 2] Religion – What is Religion?

In many cultures, religions are a part of the culture. In some cultures, religions are something to be respected. In some cultures, religions aren’t an option. However, have you ever wondered what religion itself is? What is it for?

The origin of the word “Religion” is the combination of two Latin words. Re and ligare. It means reconnecting. The beginning of the “Religion” was reconnecting humans and God. This leads to this question: are we separated from God?

Yes, we are. In Gen 6, God, the owner of the world, left mankind because of their sins and Satan took over the world instead of God. Is it because God just hates sins? Rather, God was protecting mankind because sinners die in front of God. God and sinners simply can’t live together.

If God can’t stay with us, how can we reconnect with God? God had an idea. He gave us the scripture, writing down what happened between God and people, the existence of God and evil beings, what people should expect.

About this, let’s look at this lecture. It’ll make God’s purpose of religion clear.
